Strapi is an open-source headless content management system, or headless CMS. A headless CMS makes content accessible via an API for display on any device, without a built-in front-end or presentation layer. The term “headless” comes from the concept of chopping the “head” (the front end) off the “body”, which is defined as the back end. Strapi was created by Aurélien Georget, Jim Laurie, and Pierre Burgy in 2016. Companies such as IBM and Discovery Channel are using Strapi in production.
